NYAGV is pleased to welcome several western New York organizations to the New York State Coalition to Prevent Child Access to Guns.
The Coalition is working to pass Nicholas’s Law–A.53/S.2291—a child access prevention (CAP) law that will reduce child deaths from unintentional shootings, suicides and homicides. Nicholas’s Law would require the safe storage of all guns not in the immediate possession or control of the gun owner, either in a safe storage depository or with a locking device.
These groups–and more than 50 others–are now part of the Coalition:
· Homicide Education Prevention Program • United Black Men’s Think Tank of Buffalo • Community Awareness Committee – Buffalo • Parent and Family Engagement, Buffalo Public Schools • The Roebling Avenue Block Club • We Are Women Warriors • Pax Christi WNY
See the full list of Coalition partners here.
