Gun Violence Awareness Month is June. Mark your calendars to join NYAGV and other gun violence prevention groups at these events and help spread the word about our country’s gun violence problem and the need for elected officials to act.

Niagara Falls Illumination • Saturday June 1 @ 10 pm

In observance of Gun Violence Awareness Month, Niagara Falls will be illuminated in orange beginning at 10pm for 15 minutes in recognition of the cross border concern for gun violence in our nations. Join NYAGV and its partners Coalition for Gun Control (Canada) and the Niagara Falls Illumination Board.

Wear Orange • Friday, June 7

People across the state and country will wear orange* to honor all those who have been killed, injured and impacted by gun violence and to inspire action.

Buffalo Gun Violence Awareness Weekend • Friday, June 7 (Time tba)

Buffalo Mayor Byron Brown will hold a press conference at City Hall for Gun Violence Awareness Weekend. Several buildings will be illuminated in orange for the weekend, including City Hall, the and other downtown buildings.

Walk in Solidarity With Survivors Over the Brooklyn Bridge  • Saturday, June 8 @ 12pm

Come out to march over the Brooklyn Bridge and support those who’ve experienced the trauma of gun violence. Youth Over Guns will also be registering people to vote.

Clearwater Festival – Croton-on Hudson • Saturday – Sunday, June 15-16 @ 9 am

Stop by the NYAGV table at the Clearwater Festival at Croton Point Park, Croton-on-Hudson.

NYAGV 25th Anniversary in Buffalo Friday, June 28 @ 6 pm

Celebrate NYAGV’s 25th anniversary and honor area leaders Byron W. Brown, Mayor of Buffalo, and Brian Higgins, U.S. Congressman, NY-26. This special Western New York event will feature drinks and light fare. More details here.

Niagara Falls Peace Bridge Illumination • Sunday, June 30

In observance of the last day of Gun Violence Awareness Month, the Peace Bridge between the United States and Canada will be illuminated in orange. Join NYAGV and its partners the Coalition for Gun Control (Canada) and the Niagara Falls Illumination Board.
