According to the Washington Post, today’s mass shooting in San Bernardino California is the 351st mass shooting in the U.S. in the 334 days of 2015. Early reports say today’s shooters used military-style assault weapons to commit their murders.
We must demand that our elected officials act to stop the carnage by passing common sense federal gun laws.an assault weapons and high-caliber magazines that allow killers to cause carnage in mere seconds. Close the loopholes on background checks that allow even criminals and terrorists to buy guns online and at gun shows. Strengthen gun trafficking laws and its penalties. Below are the names of the elected officials voting with the NRA and against the safety of its citizens by voting against an assault weapons ban in 2013, soon after the Sandy Hook massacre of 26 small children and educators. If they had the courage to vote yes, how many lives would have been saved?
- Shame the Senators that voted no to the assault weapons ban. Contact their offices, shame them on social media, and demand they vote to protect their citizens and not the NRA.
- Contact your own Senators and Congressional reps and demand they act to stop the carnage.
