legislative advocacy to reduce
gun violence since 1993
Young people around the country are energized to fight gun violence and make their communities safe. That’s why we’re working to bring more students to Albany Advocacy Day for Youth on May 7, where they’ll meet with our state lawmakers, thank them for their leadership, and get hands-on advocacy experience.

Students from NYAGV’s ReACTION Youth Education Program and Youth Over Guns youth advocacy group will join students and volunteers from around the state for this exciting and empowering field trip, where they’ll have the opportunity to:

  • Meet with state lawmakers from their districts and share their stories about how gun violence impacts them and their communities.
  • Thank lawmakers for passing several new gun bills this year and advocate for additional measures to save lives in communities across the state.
  • Connect with other youth leaders from New York communities including Buffalo, Staten Island, Long Island, Hudson Valley, and Albany.
  • Participate in a press conference with lawmakers.

Will you sponsor a student to attend Albany Advocacy Day for just $40?

Each $40 you donate will cover the costs for one student–including round-trip bus transportation, breakfast and lunch, and lobbying materials–and will help ensure they get the most out of this empowering day!

Thank you for supporting the next generation of GVP leaders!
