The reACTION Youth Program students got first-hand experience and an inside look at state government on their Albany Lobby Day field trip. The teens–from New York City public schools–meet with state representatives and organized their own media event to advocate for strong gun safety laws that keep them safe.
The action-packed day included:
- An in-depth Q&A
with staff from the Governor’s office.
- Meeting with State Assembly and Senate members including Herman Farrell, Jr., Felix Ortiz, Brian Kavanagh and Michelle Schimel.
- Sitting in on a session of the Legislature.
- Holding their own media event–planned, organized and run by the students.
Congratulations on a job well done by the reACTION kids!
