NYAGV executive director Leah Gunn Barrett commented for “Guns Marketed to Children?”–an investigative report by WABC Eyewitness News. The May 7 segment focused on how gun manufacturers market to children using cute names for guns, like the “Crickett” or “Chipmunk,” as well as a variety of gun colors, like pink for little girls.

“It’s about growing the market for guns in the future. Kids getting hooked on guns just like the tobacco industry wanting kids to get hooked on cigarettes. It comes down to the bottom line of money and profits,” said Barrett for the piece.
