Leah Gunn Barrett, Executive Director of New Yorkers Against Gun Violence,  appeared on MSNBC’s Jansing and Co. on May 1 to discuss the backlash being felt by Senators like Kelly Ayotte (R-N.H.) who voted against background checks. Barrett also commented on the NRA’s new TV ads defending these lawmakers. The Senate defeated the Manchin-Toomey amendment to the background check proposal on April 17, but Senator Manchin has vowed to bring the bill up again.
