Edward Skyler

The NYAGV Education Fund is pleased to announce that it will be honoring several inspiring gun violence prevention leaders at its 2018 Annual Benefit on Tuesday, October 9 in New York City:

Edward Skyler, Citi’s Executive Vice President for Global Public Affairs, for Citi’s leadership as the first major bank to institute sensible restrictions on the sale of firearms by its business customers. Skyler also oversaw the initiative against illegal guns as Deputy Mayor in Mayor Michael R. Bloomberg’s administration. Skyler will receive the Allard K. Lowenstein Award for Public Service.

Eric Gonzalez

Eric Gonzalez, Brooklyn District Attorney, for launching Justice 2020, a model initiative aimed at strengthening community trust in the criminal justice system while keeping Brooklyn safe. Gonzalez will receive the Detective Steven McDonald Family Law Enforcement Award.

Paola Paez

Paola Paez and Gregory Williams, recent graduates of City-As School High School in Manhattan and alumni of NYAGV Education Fund’s ReACTION Youth Program in New York public schools, for helping to develop and lead the “Youth Over Guns” initiative and its march over the Brooklyn Bridge in June. Paez and Williams will receive the NYAGV Founders’ Award.

Gregory Williams

This event supports the NYAGV Education Fund’s youth and community education programs to reduce gun violence.
