The New York State Nurses Association–the state’s largest union and professional association for registered nurses–has joined the coalition to help enact A8293/S7822, Nicholas’s Law.
NYAGV is organizing the New York State Coalition to Prevent Child Access to Guns to build support for the enactment of Nicholas’s Law, a proposed New York State child access prevention (CAP) law requiring the safe storage of guns. The coalition now includes 43 organizations working to keep our kids safe from gun violence. Nicholas’s Law will help prevent accidental shootings and suicides among children, school shootings, and gun thefts. The bill is named for 12-year-old Nicholas Naumkin, who was shot and killed by a friend playing with his father’s loaded and unlocked gun.
