Eric T. Schneiderman, New York State Attorney General, will join NYAGV and a coalition of gun safety advocates at this Friday’s rally and press conference to commemorate the six month anniversary of the Newtown massacre of 20 elementary students and six adults.
Meet at the steps of City Hall in lower Manhattan at 1 pm on June 14 and demand that Congress act now to pass common sense gun laws.
Other attendees and speakers include victims of gun violence; gun safety coalition partners Moms Demand Action, the Brady Campaign to Prevent Gun Violence, and Organizing for Action; and faith leaders and physicians groups.
We’ll also be expressing our thanks to Governor Cuomo and New York State legislators for enacting the NY SAFE Act, which gives New York some of the strongest gun safety laws in the country.
Since the Newtown shootings, over 5,000 Americans have been killed by gun violence–and Congress has failed to enact even the most basic federal laws to keep guns out of the hands of criminals. Remind Congress you will not forget their failure on this issue.
Join us this Friday!
