Join NYAGV and other gun-safety advocates at the steps of New York City Hall, Thursday, December 12 at noon to mark the one year anniversary of the tragic Newtown shootings.
Since the shootings on December 14, 2012, approximately 30,000 more Americans have been killed by gun violence. Yet Congress has failed to enact any common sense gun laws to help keep our children and all citizens safe from gun violence. Join us and demand that Congress act now to pass federal laws for universal background checks, an assault weapons ban, limits on high-capacity magazines, and gun trafficking measures.
In contrast, New York State did act–and passed the bipartisan NY SAFE Act just weeks after the shootings, giving New York some of the strongest gun safety laws in the country. At the December 12 event, NYAGV will also be thanking New York’s legislators and Governor Cuomo for their leadership on making New York a model state for gun safety.
