bus-imageOn Monday, May 4, we’ll be taking three busloads of students from our reACTION Youth Program on a field trip to New York’s capital to observe government in action.

The students–from high schools in Crown Heights, Harlem and the Bronx–will have the opportunity to share their stories and thoughts about gun violence and how it affects their daily lives, and advocate for change.

In Albany, students will:

  • Meet with legislators and staff from their legislative districts and advocate for strong gun laws.
  • Apply the skills they’ve learned in the program, like public speaking, debating, planning and organizing.
  • Hold their own press conference, with five outstanding students speaking on behalf of the group.

Albany Lobby Day will be a life-changing experience for every student that attends.
